Chinese Professor sailed from Hong Kong to Macau for 10.5 hours

Originally planned to swim at the end of the previous week, but was canceled because of heavy swells on the sea. 41-year-old teacher from Beijing, had sailed from Hong Kong's Lantau Island on Thursday morning and arrived at Macao in the evening the same day. On the shore he was met by crowds of journalists and citizens who have decided to support the daredevil. It was expected that the swim would take more than 15 hours, but Zhang Jian was able to successfully get in passing over, which helped him reduce travel time by more than four hours. This is not the first voyage of the Beijing professor. Earlier, he became the first Chinese had sailed nearly 34-mile English Channel in 2001. In addition, in the past had a swim through 109 km of the Bohai Gulf in 2000 and several trips on lakes and rivers. In the words of Zhang Jian, the preparation of the current swim he took more than a year. In a way, he rested a few times, reinforcing the energy drink and special nutrient briquettes. All the time path of a Chinese swimmer was accompanied by two boats, which helped him to navigate in space and were willing to come to help if Zhang Jian suddenly left forces.
