The world's smallest robot - autonomous and remotely piloted created by Bruce Donald and his colleagues at the American College Dartmouth.

The length of the robot is 0.25 mm, width - 0,06 mm, the height of the same - even less. He moves with "feet" on a flexible suspension, with its way of movement like crawling caterpillars.

Every second microrobots makes tens of thousands of steps ahead of him at 10 nanometers each. For its size - it is very "fast creature."

Energy for the robot delivers thousands of tiny electrodes that cover the surface on which the machine and moves. Through the same electrodes are sent to the robot control commands.

It is interesting that another group of researchers plans to create a swarm of millimeter robots able to act collectively, reports Membrana.
