Alexander Dolinin Lecturer Department of Slavonic literature at the University of Wisconsin and author of several research works of Nabokov argues that the novel of Vladimir Nabokov's "Lolita" is based on a real kidnapping that occurred in America in 1940.

He argues that the plot is based on the fact Florence Sally Horner, girls from New Jersey, 11 or 12 years, which is blackmail forced to have sexual relations 50-year-old auto mechanic.

"The second part of" Lolita "is replete with references to the history of Horner", - said Alexander Dolinin.

The researcher came to his conclusion by examining the local newspapers for the period 1940-1950-ies.

The fate of the two girls eventually turned out to be tragic. In the novel, Lolita is married and has run away with her new husband to Alaska, but she died during childbirth. Sally Horner was killed in a car accident in 1952, according to Inopressa.ru
