Resolution on the reconstruction and construction of the third stage of Mariinsky Theatre in a building on the street Pisarev, where previously housed the decor workshop, today received the Government of St. Petersburg.
"The first stage of the third stage of Mariinsky Theatre will be commissioned in July 2006," - said vice-governor of St. Petersburg Alexander sergeant.
He said that after a strong fire in the workshop in 2003, the theater administration decided to realigning the building a concert hall. Under the work plan should be completed in 2 years and 11 months.
At 1,150 seats designed the new hall Marinka. It will host concerts, theater and orchestra musicians, who come to St. Petersburg for a tour.
Buildings on the street Pisarev, 20, will be located where the third stage of Marinka, already 106 years old. Previously, it was used as a warehouse for sets and scenery workshops. Building after a fire in 2003 was not maintained, according to Interfax
