Today - 45 years after the conquest of human space

Today marks the 45 anniversary of the first manned flight into space.

April 12, 1961 the Soviet Union orbited the Earth-satellite spacecraft "Vostok", driven by Yuri Gagarin. Booster "Vostok 8K72K" launched from Baikonur.

Understudy became German Titov. "East" was launched with a minimum distance from the surface of the Earth 181 kilometers, maximum - 327 km. The flight lasted 1 hour 48 minutes.

April 12 became a national holiday - the Day of astronautics.
