Metropolitan Andrian buried in Moscow at the Old Believers' cemetery Rogozhskoe
Metropolitan Andrian primate of the Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church, died today of a heart attack. The tragedy occurred in the Kirov region during the procession from the city of Vyatka in the village Velikoretskoe.

Metropolitan Andrian (in the world - Alexander G. Thursday) was born February 14, 1951 in Kazan. In 1974 he graduated from Kazan Aviation Institute. He worked as a design engineer. In 1986 he left secular work and began to work with Kazan Old Believers' church, having mastered a number of job specialties, as well as churches, arts and crafts. Later he was elected chairman of the church community. Since 1995, he worked as an icon painter in Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk.
In 1998, a widower. In 1999 he was ordained deacon in 2000 - to the priesthood in 2001, took his monastic vows. April 29, 2001 in Old Believers' Protection Cathedral in Moscow was ordained bishop of Kazan and Vyatka. The consecration was headed Old Believers, Metropolitan of Moscow and All Russia Alimpy. February 9, 2004 at the consecration of the Cathedral of Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church elected Metropolitan of Moscow and All Russia. Enthronement of Metropolitan Andrian held February 12, 2004 in Old Believers' Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral in Moscow.
The late head of the Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church has made a significant contribution to the development of its relations with the Moscow Patriarchate. Three months after his election and enthronement of May 11, 2004 Metropolitan Andrian with a delegation of Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church visited the Department for External Church Relations of Moscow Patriarchate, where he met with Chairman of the DECR MP, Metropolitan of Smolensk and Kaliningrad Kirill. The meeting, which took place in an atmosphere of openness and trust, has initiated a new phase of cooperation between the Moscow Patriarchate and the Russian Orthodox Old Believers Church. The themes of this and subsequent conversations have different needs Old Believer communities, cooperation in cultural, information and publishing activities, general efforts on improvement of the moral life of society.
During the service at the Moscow department of the Old Believers, Metropolitan Andrian made many trips to various regions, and, as a rule, met with local hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church.
