Two earthquakes occurred in the Kuril Islands, with an interval of less than one and a half hours.
The press service of EMERCOM of the Sakhalin region said that the first earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale was registered at 13:16 local time (6:16 GMT Sunday). Its epicenter was 80 kilometers south of Etorofu Kuril region.
Second, with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale was recorded in six hours - at 14:35 (7:35 GMT) 20 kilometers southwest of Shikotan South Kuril region.
In both cases, the tremors were not felt by the population, destruction no tsunami threat does not arise, noted in the emergency department, reports " Interfax ".
