The curfew in Nepal extended by one day

Authorities Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, extended for one more day of action day curfew. Measure undertaken to prevent the shares opposition to King Gyanendra.

On Saturday, tens of thousands of people of Nepal took part in the protests. As a result of clashes with police in Pohara, 200 km west of Kathmandu, killing one person.

In the southern town of Bharatpur troops opened fire on the 25000th demonstration. At least three demonstrators and four police officers were injured. Protesters took over the administrative building and set fire to them.

Year and two months ago, King Gyanendra declared himself the sole ruler of Nepal a year, saying that political parties can not withstand the Maoist insurrection.

A nationwide protest was organized by a coalition of seven opposition parties led by the Communists, who demand the abdication of King, reports BBC.

Representation Commissioner for Human Rights expressed its deep concern over the use of excessive force by the authorities.

Scheduled for Saturday rally opposition to Kathmandu was delayed until Sunday because of government imposed a curfew.

Authorities said they would open fire on violators.

The city has been disconnected mobile network.
