Testosterone has no effect on the sexuality of women

Despite the fact that recent studies have shown that testosterone regulates the interest of women to have sex, their level of male hormones - androgens, in the realization of sexual function is not relevant.

During trials in 1021 women without any problems with the thyroid gland, assess the level of the various androgens, resulting in it was found that these hormones do not influence their sexuality.

However, it appeared that the low level degidroepindrosterona sulfate (DHEAS) correlated with reduced excitability and other women's sexual problems, however, in most women with low DHEAS such problems were observed.

Davis concludes that the treatment of female sexual dysfunction by testosterone alone does not make much sense. More preferably, take it along with other "sex steroids", says ROL.
