The new Constitution of Iraq is a growing discontent

As said government spokesman Leith Kubba, the proposed amendments reflect the immaturity of the Iraqi parliament.

Most Sunni leaders are dissatisfied with the draft constitution, and believe that the Sunni community in a referendum vote against it.

The Iraqi parliament has decided to abandon the changes made earlier in the procedure of holding a referendum on the draft Iraqi constitution.

This decision was taken after a sharp criticism voiced against the Iraqi parliamentarians from the international community, in particular, the UN and the U.S..

Initially, the transitional constitution of Iraq, it was stated that adoption of the basic law on the referendum needs the support of most voters, and the document may be approved "if two-thirds of voters in three or more provinces do not reject it."

But on Monday the parliament of Iraq, most of which belong to the Shia, has changed the wording and agreed that block the adoption of the constitution may vote only two-thirds of registered voters. "

In practice, this meant that the referendum were to fail it was much harder, as many registered voters are Sunni can not come to the polls, fearing bombings, the American patrols, or threats of militants.

Sunni leaders called for a boycott of Iraq's transitional parliament in January this year, and the plots came only about 60% of voters, reports BBC.
