The Japanese again showed the world his passion for miniaturization - invented the smallest and thinnest in the world's microchip.

Size of the new microchip - less than a grain of sand salt. It can be "alive" even in the paper. The thickness of the microchip is 7.5 micron (one thousandth of a meter) length of the side - 0.15 millimeters.

The microchip is capable of receiving a signal from the antenna, and then transform it into an electrical signal and how to reflect the identification number that can be programmed.

Such a clever miniature device can be useful almost anywhere: in security systems, for example, in entertainment. Also this chip can do to make identification or financial documents with high degree of protection.

Previous microchip created by "Hitachi" was nearly ten times more contraption. The developers noted that with reduced size of the microchip and the decreasing cost of production that only a positive impact on later life of the invention and success of its implementation in everyday life, says " Pravda.Ru ".
