Moldova, as the presiding country of the GUUAM - the block of the post-Soviet territory - has received notice of withdrawal from the organization in Uzbekistan. Recall that the union of the GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) was established in October 1997. In 1999, Uzbekistan joined the alliance, and the organization became known as GUUAM. More recently, the interstate structure with strong political support for the U.S. is increasingly asserting itself as a potential alternative to the CIS .

Starting today, without Uzbekistan, the organization must again be called GUAM, RIA Novosti news agency referring to the administration of the Moldovan president. A spokesman declined to comment on the decision of the administration of ex-partners on the block comment on the Uzbek side has also not been reported.
