The Georgian Parliament unanimously adopted a change in the law "On the sojourn time, arrival and departure of foreign nationals in Georgia, which envisage a unilateral cancellation of entry visas for citizens of EU, U.S., Japan, Canada, Israel and Switzerland.

Citizens of these states will have the right to stay without a visa on the territory of Georgia within 90 days. The law will come into effect upon publication.

According to the Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli, the decision was made to establish more favorable conditions for increased flow of tourists from these countries, as well as for business development in Georgia.

"This decision is another step aimed at deepening the process of Georgia's integration into the European community", - underlined the prime minister.

He noted that as a result of this decision the budget of Georgia will lose about $ 1.2 million because of reduced volume of consular fees. However, "this is not the amount that would cause problems to our country, and I am confident that we will pay it from other sources," the prime minister stressed.
