British robot surgeon will help to avoid surgery

In Britain, experts have created a robotic surgeon. Developers are hoping that their invention will revolutionize medicine. Thanks to this device doctors can perform complex procedures that are now possible only with surgery.

Robot i-Snake is a long tube, which contains the micromotors, sensors and instruments for surveillance. The main purpose of the instrument - to simplify procedures for coronary artery bypass surgery, but it can be used to diagnose the intestines and other organs, which penetrate without surgery very difficult.

Soon the specialists are going to start its application to patients. According to Deputy Health Minister of Great Britain, the famous surgeon Ara Darzi, i-Snake will allow for more complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures than those that are possible now.

In addition, this invention will help to implement an earlier and less costly treatment at a lower need for surgery, more rapid postoperative rehabilitation, reducing the time the operation itself.
