Psychologists from the Research Laboratory at Aberdeen University, physiognomy was subjected to careful study of this phenomenon as love at first sight. They concluded that such a sudden feeling of flushing is derived as our own selfishness.

In their experiment, the Scottish scientists has involved 460 men and women. Each of the subjects were asked to rate the attractiveness of the opposite sex from photographs. At the same time using a computer program psychologists unnoticed subjects varied gaze direction and facial expressions. Those with direct, open view, or a kindly smile seemed most sympathetic to volunteers. If they are both of these features were characteristic of a person in the picture, its appeal has expanded at a whopping eight times.

CONCLUSIONS: people find attractive those in whose eyes they see sympathy for themselves.

According to psychologists, love at first sight the most justified in terms of evolution. "We are attracted to the opposite sex who are most likely to respond sympathetically," - says Doctor of Biological Sciences, State University professor Leonid Korzun.
