Sputnik "Ibuki" tell the world about greenhouse gases

Japanese satellite "Ibuki" went into space, where he was the first in the world to measure the concentration of carbon dioxide and methane, the greenhouse effect.

"Ibuki" equipped with infrared sensors, which from space would be to scan the concentration of gases causing the greenhouse effect over the entire area of the Earth. The satellite was developed jointly by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and the Ministry of Environment of Japan. For its development and launch was spent 34.6 billion yen (388 million dollars).

In addition to the "Ibuki" missile brought into space seven small satellites designed for scientific and educational purposes. The creators of one of them - students of technical college - is counting on its 15-centimeter offspring with space imagery, reports RIA Novosti .
