Scientists have found on the Moon magnesium, silicon and aluminum

January 22 2009

On the moon by Indian satellite Chandrayaan-1, launched three months ago in space, are found deposits of aluminum, silicon and magnesium.

Apparatus operating at 100-km circular lunar orbit, has received the data by those on board the X-ray spectrometer (C1XS), produced in collaboration with British experts.

Experts expect that during the lunar mission Chandrayaan-1 will also provide information for making three-dimensional atlas of the moon. Tens of thousands of images have already been received and processed in the laboratories of the ISRO, informs ITAR-TASS .
