Representatives of the U.S. National Climate Center in North Carolina told us that the average surface temperature of land and ocean in January 2007 amounted to almost 13 degrees Celsius, which is 0.85 degrees above the average January temperature in the XX century. The previous record was set in 2002, when the temperature exceeded the medieval to 0.71 degrees. The average temperature has exceeded its medieval land value at 1.89 degrees, also setting a record.
