Fashionable nano-material will produce bacteria

Engineers from the University of California at Riverside reported that successfully received the semiconductor nanotubes with living bacteria. According to experts, the results are very impressive and could lead to cheaper and more environmentally friendly materials for the manufacture of electronic devices.

Professor Myung-Nose and his colleagues built the arsenic sulfide nanotubes by using metal-reducing microorganisms. To this end, the bacteria were placed in a medium containing a large amount of arsenic and there is bacteria isolated polysaccharides serve as a "template" for the formation of nanotubes. The mechanism of this process has not yet been studied, but the prospect of such a synthesis is very promising.
