Total lunar eclipse can be observed on February 21

Total lunar eclipse to phase 1.11 could be observed in most of European Russia on February 21. This was reported in the Main (Pulkovo) Astronomical Observatory RAS.

Press Secretary Sergei Smirnov, the observatory said that "in the Urals, for example, the Moon will enter the horizon during a total eclipse." In Western Siberia, on the contrary, it will be possible to contemplate only the beginning of the eclipse. " According to him, in the western and central regions of Russia lunar eclipse astronomy enthusiasts and professionals will be able to capture with the help of amateur and corporate telescopes in predawn hours from the beginning till the end. From the territory of the Russian North-West "shadow eclipse will be seen completely," - assured the Pulkovo Observatory.

The duration of the eclipse shadow is 3 hours 26 minutes, complete - 51 min, clarified Petersburg astronomers.

During the eclipse the Moon will be in the constellation Leo near the star in the constellation key - Regulus. In the vicinity of the horizon is expected to please the eye bright luster will be Saturn.
