Best album half a century - The Beatles "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"

Favorite disc of all the British records, reaches first place in the British charts over the past 50 years, is recognized album The Beatles "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". These are the results of a survey conducted by the radio station BBC Radio 2 among its 220,000 students.

Second place in the rankings with a lag of 201 votes won album of Michael Jackson's "Thriller". Third place went to a recorded disc U2 "Joshua Tree". It is noteworthy that in the top ten were just four albums, "Fab Four".

Ten of the best albums number 1 is as follows:

1. "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (1967) - The Beatles
2. "Thriller" (1982) - Michael Jackson
3. "The Joshua Tree" (1987) - U2
4. "Rumours" (1977) - Fleetwood Mac
5. "Wish You Were Here" (1975) - Pink Floyd

6. "Revolver" (1966) - The Beatles
7. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" (1970) - Simon and Garfunkel
8. "Abbey Road" (1969) - The Beatles
9. "A Night At The Opera" (1975) - Queen
10. "The Beatles" (aka "The White Album") (1968) - The Beatles

BBC listeners in parallel also asked to name their favorite CDs, which failed to take the highest line in the charts. In this poll took priority "Dark Side Of The Moon" of Pink Floyd and "The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars" by David Bowie. Reported Izvestia
