Bilan won! Eurovision Song Contest in 2009, first held in Russia

In the night from Saturday to Sunday in the final of the prestigious Belgrade Eurovision Song Contest, Russia where the second time representing the pop singer Dima Bilan. Europe trembled to the sound of lyrical songs «Believe me» and give Dima the first place.

Bilan won with 272 points. In second place - Ukrainian singer Ani Lorak, the third - Greek Kalomoira. Now Moscow is automatically became the capital of 54-th International Music Contest "Eurovision" - the spring of 2009 the Russian capital will take participants and guests of this musical show.

Note that the "Eurovision" - one of the most popular television shows in the world, held annually since 1956. Russia has never won Eurovision, though during its existence it was attended by such Russian celebrities as Alla Pugacheva, Philip Kirkorov, Alsou, Ilya Lagutenko, Tatu, and others.

Last year, the Russian group "Silver" won the competition in third place and the current winner Dima Bilan in 2006 became the second, reported Pravda.ru.
