A study by Harris Interactive showed that 8.5% of young Americans (aged 8 to 18 years) may be considered pathological gamblers, to acquire the uncontrollable dependence on video games.

Approximately a quarter of American teenagers believe that they overdo this exercise. The most frequently involved in such pastimes boys and young men who are convinced gamers three times more often than girls and girls.

In any case, eight out of every ten young people in the U.S. are playing video games at least once a month. On average, boys 8-12-years doing this 13 hours a week. With age, this passion only intensified - 13-18-year-olds spend in front of video games 14 hours.

The more often a minor player playing video games, the worse it in school, the more shows aggressiveness toward others and the worse his figure (overreliance on such fun, as a rule leads to the recruitment of excess weight).

One amusing finding of the study: the negative impact of video games especially enhanced if the console is installed in the bedroom of the child or adolescent. In this case, significantly increases the time that the young players spend alone with attachment - up to 24.5 hours per week. These players are much more prone to problems at school and on the street. Tells MIGnews.com.
