Created a unique timepiece

December 6 2006

Optical atomic clocks, in which time intervals are measured variations of strontium atoms, provided American physicists at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Atoms cooled to ultralow temperatures, held an electromagnetic field and excited by laser beam.

The nodes of the spatial grids of new hours, unlike those of atomic clocks based on single ions of mercury is the order of hundreds of strontium atoms. This has repeatedly increase the signal strength and accuracy of the clock.

Resistance to noise-induced vibration and gravity, is an additional advantage of the new watch. A few billion years a new clock wrong by 1 sec. According to Radio Liberty
