In England eye the night at the bus stop

August 31 2007

Cornea, which should have been delivered to Northemptonsky hospital for transplant in the UK, left for the night at a bus station.

As reported by The Guardian, this was due to confusion in the arrangements between the companies engaged in transportation of transplant. The bus, owned by National Express, has brought authority to the bus station in Northampton, where it was supposed to pick up the courier company TNT. However, when a courier came behind the cornea, a bus station has been closed.

Graft spent the night at the station, but the next morning was taken to hospital and successfully transplanted to the waiting patient. Nevertheless Guide UK National Health Service launched an investigation into the incident.
