The biggest solar plant built in China

China has erected the world's largest solar power plant. Plan to begin construction in June 2010 and finish in 2019.

The facility would be built in the north, in the province of Inner Mongolia. The area of the station will be at least 64 square kilometers, with production capacity of 2 gigawatts, which is 30 times greater than the largest power station today.

The project is estimated at 6.4 billion yuan (from 590 to 880 million dollars). In the construction will be attended by U.S. companies.
