China's polar expedition conquered the highest point in Antarctica

Scientists and mountaineers from China with a group of 17 men conquered the highest point of the southern continent - "Dome A", located on the 4,093-meters above sea level. The Chinese put on the height of a special brass statue.

The sculpture is called "Huaxia tsantsyu" ("Chinese sky"), its height is 1.6 meters and weight - 180 pounds. It is made of an alloy of brass, a young Chinese sculptor from the city of Xiamen on behalf of Y Sihuan.

The upper part of the monument is in the form of ancient Chinese compass, the lower is the jade, which bear an inscription in large print. Compass, and period Chuntsyu Chzhango is one of the oldest instruments in which a person could determine the presence of the north and south poles, and one of the four great Chinese inventions.

The inscription on the obverse of this work devotes a great explorers of the South Pole, the words on the reverse side of the sculpture reads: "A peaceful and scientific use of the South Pole" and "Rebirth of China for the benefit of all mankind," wrote the newspaper Renmin Ribao.
