Japanese engineer to realize the dream of The Da Vinci mini-helicopter

In Japan, designed miniature single helicopter - one of the most incredible projects of the legendary Leonardo da Vinci. For its size the aircraft turned to the smallest in the world - only 75 kilograms.

It is known that da Vinci created a sketch of a helicopter in 1493. The drawing was found in the nineteenth century and is now recognized as the first project of the unit vertical takeoff and landing. Test flight of the machine will be the home of genius of the Renaissance - in Vinci, near Florence.

Told reporters in Tokyo, the creator of the machine - an engineer Gennay Yanagisawa. He created the helicopter LEG HC-4 - is an open seat, over which is attached the engine and the two rotors rotating in opposite directions. The helicopter has already been successfully tested in Japan's mountainous Nagano Prefecture, and can reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour.

In February 2008 the Guinness Book of Records registered the unit as the world's smallest helicopter that can carry a person. He has no tail, as well as machine proposed by Leonardo da Vinci. Yanagisawa engineer has visited the city of Vinci, and agreed with its mayor to hold it a test flight on May 25, said today the newspaper Japan Times.
