MCC held a correction of the ISS orbit

Russian Mission Control Center (MCC) today about 12:30 finish the correction of the orbit of the International Space Station (ISS). This measure was necessary to ensure optimal conditions for future ballistic docking with the station manned Soyuz TMA spacecraft with the crew of Expedition 18 to ISS cargo spacecraft "Progress M-65.

Told reporters at MCC, the correction performed by engines docked to the station of the European transport ship "Jules Verne". The duration of the engines was 995.1 seconds (just over 16.5 minutes). The average height of the orbit of the ISS after the maneuver increased by 5.8 km and reached 355.9 kilometers, RIA Novosti
