Shakespeare's plays put up for auction?
A rare copy of the first edition of William Shakespeare put up for auction in London. Experts estimate it to 4,3-6,1 million U.S. dollars.
One of the features of the current instance is that in 1716 it was kept in the library of the famous Pastor Daniel Williams in London.
The first folio, entitled "Comedy, books, and William Shakespeare," which features 36 works, was published in 750 copies on the initiative fellow actors in 1623, after the death of the great English playwright.
According to the researchers, now in private collections, libraries and museums of the world remained little more than 200 copies of the first edition.
Recall that in 2001 a similar collection went to auction in New York for 5.6 million dollars, reports newsru.com
