In the South Pacific maritime drama played out

The night before, in the Pacific island nation of Tonga overturned passenger ferry "Princess Ashiq. On board the ship disappeared without a trace 27 people - launched a rescue operation.

This was reported by the emergency services of New Zealand, which is helping the authorities of the Kingdom of Tonga to provide security in its territorial waters. Search operation is carried out by local courts and the New Zealand rescue aircraft.

The exact cause of the shipwreck is not yet established. It is reported that the ship was carrying passengers from one island kingdom of Tonga on the other. Total on board the ferry were 79 people - 49 passengers and 30 crew members. Immediately after the accident, 52 people managed to escape - 42 of them were in life rafts, while another 10 people were lifted out of water.

At the moment, according to rescuers, the chances to find people alive still exist, as the water temperature in the collapse of the ferry is about 25 degrees, and the excitement of the sea is moderate.
