Collection of weapons GDR leaders to be auctioned off

A unique collection of hunting rifles and pistols, formerly belonging to the GDR leader Erich Honecker, the director of the Stasi Erich Mielke, and several other German politicians, will be auctioned off. Bidding will take place in the German city of Suhl in October this year.

Total sales for 1931 will be posted the item. It is expected that total revenues could reach about one million euros. "All things quite exceptional, many of them are decorated with elaborately carved," - said the owner of the collection, a resident of Erfurt Christian Bernut.

More than half of the samples of the proposed weapons previously belonged to the director of "Stasi" and the well-known collector Erich Mielke. In this case, one of the most valuable lots would be pistol Walther, who used Mielke August 9, 1931 in Berlin during the shooting went down in history with the police officers involved in the dispersal of Communist demonstrations, reports Reuters.
