Fashion at the Olympic heights. Who makes the costumes for "gold" figure skaters?

Since 2000, the costumes of legendary skaters creates designer Janis Chamalidy. In 2002, the jury of the Winter Olympics announced by Janis Chamalidy first Russian fashion designer, "With the high fashion haute couture on the ice."

I must confess that the first work of the designer and its unconventional approach shocked the judges: ripped jeans instead of the traditional silk and sequins, black kimono cases with blood-red "cuts" instead of the classic European "twos" and other innovations designer.

Janis Chamalidy was born June 24, 1976. In 1992 he enrolled in the Art and Industry Academy of St. Petersburg (named after VI Mukhina), where he successfully mastered the technique of cut and painted fabrics and printing techniques drawing on fabric, art, embroidery and draping.

Creates costumes for the characters of the Norwegian writer Henrik Ibsen in the international project is developing the costumes for the ballet performances of "Don Jose", "Romeo and Juliet", "Scheherazade"; engaged in the reconstruction of historical costumes, working with the Russian Museum and the Hermitage. Was twice awarded the title "Designer of the Year.
