Scandalously famous Finns STRATOVARIUS Gorbushka smash to pieces

October 23 in DK Gorbunova will be world-famous show notorious Finnish STRATOVARIUS. The concert begins at 20:00.

They call themselves STRATOVARIUS, but they are more commonly called "Gods Power Metal». On September 5, they released the 11 th studio album, entitled «Stratovarius», which was recorded on Mayan Records. STRATOVARIUS musicians have chosen this title is not accidental, thus clearly giving everyone know that they will begin a new stage in his career, and the musical material of their new album - vivid evidence.

In Moscow, the legendary Finns will come in its original lineup - Timo Tolkki (guitar), Timo Koltipelto (vocals), Jorg Michael (drums), Jari Kainulainen (bass guitar), Jens Johansson (keyboards).

According to critics, the new album STRATOVARIUS offers the listener off on a fascinating journey through the dizzying musical rollercoaster of 9 songs. From traditional and straight-line fighters ("Gypsy In Me") to the complex and intricate songs ("Back To Madness"). From monolithic anthems ("Maniac Dance") to the original epic and the pathos STRATOVARIUS ("Gotterdammerung"). The record will be a new proof that the musicians on the new wave and claim the title "king of the mountains" of the European symphonic power-metal.

In Moscow, STRATOVARIUS presents a new album and will please fans of the old tunes.

STRATOVARIUS Group was founded in 1984 by three Finnish musicians from Helsinki: a drummer and vocalist Tuomo Lassila (Tuomo Lassila), bassist John Vierve (John Viherva) and guitarist Staffan Strelmanom (Staffan Strehlman).

While the band name BLACK WATER, and her music is very different from modern music STRATOVARIUS. Strong influence on popular music provided at the time BLACK SABBATH, headed by Ozzy Osbourne. A little later, Staffan introduced to music early STRATOVARIUS some elements of the classics.

In May 1989 saw the release of their debut album STRATOVARIUS called "Fright Night". The second album ("Stratovarius II") was released in Finland in early 1992. However, by the time it became clear that the most popular group enjoys outside their native country. Demo tapes were sent out in recording studios around the world, and a group interested in the Shark Records, after listening to a song "Hands of Time".

As a result, the album "Stratovarius II" with a new cover and new name "Twilight Time" was released throughout Europe. Soon the album hit the Japanese market and music industry and for five months remained in the top ten import titles in the Land of the Rising Sun. In 1993, "Twilight Time" was the best album in Japan on number of sales, and about the same time, the group signed a contract with JVC Victor Entertaiment, which released "Twilight Time" in Japan in July 1993.

In February-March 1994, released their third album "Dreamspace", which was praised by critics, and the popularity of STRATOVARIUS skyrocketed.In June, the band went on tour in Japan, playing concerts in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.

When recording a new album, "Fourth Dimension" in the group has changed the vocalist. They became Timo Kotipelto. The title of this album speaks for itself: the music STRATOVARIUS, a new dimension. "Fourth Dimension" was released in March 1995 and twice overtook "Dreamspace" on number of sales.
The group continued to conquer Europe and to act in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Finland and Greece.

After all these tours Tuomo Lassila and Antti Ikonen asked to leave the team. This was quite a lot of reasons, but most compelling were at odds with other musicians.

After the success of "Forth dimension" Timo Tolkki and Timo Kotopelto wanted to make the band's sound even better, why was invited to a group of talented keyboardist Jens Johansson and drummer Jorg Michaels. Recording fifth album "Episode" took place in Finvox Studios in Helsinki. This album was another big step forward for the group - was first invited to the choir of 40 voices and brass band.

The next album, titled "Visions" was released in April 1997 and immediately took fifth place in the Finnish charts. In the Finnish top 40, he stayed for 24 weeks. "Visions" began a new tour of Finland, Japan, Europe, South America.

During the tour, "Visions", the band recorded their first Live album "Visions of Europe", which was released in March 1998. In 1998, STRATOVARIUS recorded the album "Destiny". The album took first place in the chart before been officially released.

In 1999 went to record a new album titled "Infinite". This was followed by Intermission, Elements I, Elements II.

Solo projects Timo Tolkki: Classical Variations and Themes (1994); Hymn to Life (2002); Timo Kotipelto - Waiting for the Dawn (2002), Coldness (2004).
