For a long time Suomi already fixed the title of the metal-rock country in the world. Today we tell about the most famous formations of Finland. Mega-popular trio-quartet Apocalyptica this year celebrates its anniversary - a decade of joint action. The team has long earned the respect of music lovers around the world and is now at the peak of his popularity.

In the wonderful city of Helsinki, four young men: Antero Manninen, Max Lilja, Paavo and Eicca Toppinen Lotenen studied together in a music academy named after Jean Sibelius. Like most Finns, the guys were big fans of metal and hard rock. History is silent, who first of the boys in mid-1993 had the idea to create a quartet Apocalyptica.

Big fans of Shostakovich, Brahms, Mozart and, of course, Sibelius, gallant Finns have started rehearsals. Passion for creativity such groups as Metallica, reflected both in the group's repertoire, as well as in the title. The musicians tried to cross two words - Apocalypse and Metallica - and appeared APOCALYPTICA.

The first label became «Zen Garden Records». With this label, was recorded debut album «Apocalyptica Plays Metallica By Four Cellos». The album includes eight classic tracks Metallica, played the cello, among them were hits like (Enter Sandman, Master of Puppets, The Unforgiven, Welcome Home).

It all began in the autumn of 1996, when young men were invited to warm up their idols and legends of the world scene Metallica. Here they were, and found «Zen Garden Records». Recording his first album, the band Apocalyptica and could not imagine that the drive gets going with a circulation of 250,000 copies in its first year. Since the group Apocalyptica became known around the world.

The music presented on the disc, difficult to describe, it is difficult to attribute to the metal and rock (high melody, no vocals and text) or classic (in the classics does not appear as such a refrain). Since then, many metal bands have used this technique and began to build their music on classical instruments (Therion, Tristania, Opeth, Sirenia, and others).

His second album called «Inquisition Symphony» - the same name by the composition of Brazilians Sepultura. On the album were presented to 11 tracks, one song Sepultura, Pantera, Faith No More and as many as four Metallica. Another three tracks were his own. The album was released in spring 1998 and soon became the "gold" in Finland.

The album appeared on Finnish TV, and the first two video clips of the group - «Harmageddon» and «Nothing Else Matters», the latter was in Finland, the title of best video of the year.

By recording their third album team was preparing new line-up. The group was joined by another cellist Perttu Kivilaakso. Beginner well established (Perttu has a lifetime contract with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra) and replaced the "tired of the metal" Antero Manninen (he became sessionnikom per group). The debut of a musician came to the concert in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

In October 2000 the release of Apocalyptica - «Cult». Ten of the thirteen tracks were written by Eicca Toppin. Other tracks - two covers of all of the same Metallica - «Fight Fire With Fire» (Ride the Lighting), «Until It Sleeps» (Load), as well as a variation on the theme "In the Hall of the Mountain King" (Edvard Grieg). The brightest feature of the album can be considered, and the fact that its composition is often used as subjects for various television programs. Arrangement «Hope» entered into a soundtrack for the movie "Vidocq."img hspace = "10" src = "/ img/12800.jpeg" align = "right" border = "1" />
