As part of this original group of two very dissimilar character: Marlon Rudett and Pritesh Hirzhi. Parents Pritesha Hirzhi originally from India, after a long journey through the world they settled in London, where he was born Pritesh. From childhood, he listened to a lot of very varied music: from traditional ragas and soundtracks to old Bollywood films to hip-hop and rock.

Marlon Rudett was born in the same part of London, but moved to his mother's on the island of St. Vincent. When a few years later he returned to London, it was influenced by reggae, hip-hop style dancehall. This style originated in the 80th as a hybrid of rap and song, often with texts that contain foul language, and the 90th became popular among the gangsta rappers.

Musical structure is based on a reggae rhythm that is played Drumm machines, but at a faster pace. Subsequently, both performers have expressed considerable interest to many other genres from blues to classical. About two years guys had synthesize all these elements and creating his own musical style. It should be noted that a favorable role in the future was that the Pritesh worked in the recording studio, where he studied the art of sound engineering, and Marlon in his spare time wrote poems and lyrics for rap.

These were the preconditions for it that the duo Mattafix, we know it. Incidentally, the name Mattafix can be deciphered as "matter fixed", which means "no problem", and used this expression on the same Caribbean island, where he spent several years one of the group members. In the music world, there is a superstition that as a group name - so her fate, and waits. At the moment the title is justified - the guys do not really have problems, they conquered the European charts, and critics praise them and even called the group "the most promising discovery of the year."

Their album   Signs of a Struggle was accepted very warmly. When you work on your drive participants duo enlisted the help of notorious in the world of music producer and remixer Jim Abyss (Kasabian, UNKLE, Placebo), Craig Silvy (Magic Numbers, The Coral), Steve Dubb and Seggs (Roots Manuva, Chemical Brothers) and Johnny Dollar (Neneh Cherry, Massive Attack ). Not surprisingly, the drive waiting for success and the song " Big City Life "became a hit. It is interesting that the album contained a completely diverse compositions - for example, «Gangster Blues», recorded with the support of bassist Robbie Shakespeare from the group Sly & Robbie on   bass , and quite different from her «Passer By», by critics it is appropriate to Vudstokskom festival. Calm «Clear And Present Danger» perfectly obeyed in contrast to the incendiary «Everyone Around You», in which the records used, in particular, strings and a metal drum. Finally, in one of the songs in the album is a clear influence of rhythm and blues. On the album, the musicians were experimenting with sounds and styles, and created their eclecticism was a success. And, it seems, on the progress they are not going to stop!

Group will visit Russia in the summer European tour, June 15 Mattafix perform in St. Petersburg, and 18 - in Moscow.
