For the seventh time in Moscow held a week of Finnish cinema. In the best films of 2006, American viewers can see and some classic pictures of past years. This year, such movies are: "Week of Happiness" (1954), "August" (1956) and "Error Commissioner Palmu (1960) - pictures of the famous director Matti Cassia.

The festival presents films as young filmmakers, as well as the classics of Finnish cinema. Young filmmakers are looking for a unique style, they talk about paint problems of contemporary life in Finland: alcoholism, aimlessness of life and other social vices. In turn, directors of senior and mid-generation product offers a more sophisticated film philosophical persuasion.

Among the five new films selected for display in Moscow there is drama and comedy. Pictures of the ordinary people of different ages and professions should be the taste of the Russian audience. True, most likely in the domestic box office for these movies in the near future will not appear.

Retrospective of the Finnish cinema has opened a film about the famous skier, the hero Matti Nyukyanene. In his youth he was so keen on jumping, which quickly became the best in the sport. During his career he has won almost every competition. But the ability to win the world championships and Olympic Games did not help him in everyday life.

The film Matti repeatedly comes on the same rake: falls under the bad influence of friends, lying to the TV screens, suffer from alcoholism, alters his wife, etc. Each new slap anything it does not teach. As a result, seven-time world champion and winner of four Olympic gold medals, four-time winner of the World Cup, becoming the best of the best, lost everything.

The higher it takes off, Harder They Fall. First, Matti was forced to complete their athletic careers in the prime of life. Wherever he appeared, for whatever he undertook, he was waiting for the collapse and disgrace. However, sports will to win made him to continue his arduous and sometimes nasty way of life. He walked quickly down the complex path from national hero to pariah obschesva all forgotten, lying in the gutter.

The history of internal drama with a mass of comic and tragic moments fits in two hours the film "Matti". The picture has been appreciated by the Berlin, Moscow and Vilnius jury.
