St. Petersburg State University: the venerable university in the northern capital

St. Petersburg State University (SPSU) - the oldest institution of higher education in Russia. It was founded in 1724 by Peter the Great. And since then, holds the reputation of one of the most venerable universities.

These two universities are leading not only because it is a metropolitan university. - Within one university as a paid and free education is absolutely no different.

In addition, many public schools offer various branches. At SPSU no branch. We believe that education can not be profitable and quality simultaneously.

- So, there is no quality without a budget?

- This is a very serious problem for the entire education. We, the faculty of SPSU, we believe that learning in higher education institutions have traditionally should be free. Under the Constitution, any citizen of Russia has the right to education. But the state we are not rich enough to pay for all students. Hence - the problem of pay and free education.

That is, the selected 10-15 universities will pay the state budget and science, and education. Thus, we can keep the leading scientific and pedagogical schools.

Now in Russia there are over 3000 universities, including about 600 state. Agree that it is impossible to give all the money for a little while and rely on good quality training.

In this regard, in education go to the experiments. Supposed to link the two systems: EG and SPFO. Such an experiment currently underway in several Russian universities.
